This is the official memorial website for the former Taoiseach, Charles J. Haughey, which has been established with the consent of his family. It is a work in progress and is intended to provide factual information on his career in public life and on his considerable contribution and achievements over many decades.
Bequests from the Estate of Charles Haughey
After his death, his family agreed to donate:- His papers to the Dublin City University Educational Trust.
- His library (books) to the National Museum to be displayed in the Museum of Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
- Some political portraits to the Marino Institute of Education.
- Papers relating to Inis Mhicileáin to the care of the Office of Public Works for the Blasket Island Interpretive Centre, Dunquin Co. Kerry.
- His boat "Celtic Mist" to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group
